RACHEL POSNER is a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner, certified yoga instructor, and mentor. She is thrilled to be instructing the Teacher Training Certification Program at We Are Yoga. She teaches a wide range of classes and each support self-reflection and a conscious awareness of the mind/body connection. Rachel strives to assist others in developing practices that support the cultivation of a rich inner and outer life.
Why have you chosen to teach at WAY?
I have been part of the WAY community for 10 years and every time I enter the studio, I feel like I’m home. It is an incredible feeling to feel as comfortable at work as I do at home.
What is your yoga teaching philosophy?
I believe you are your best teacher. I encourage my students to listen to their bodies and respond to what they hear even if it means not following my instructions. What I love about yoga is that it teaches us all to listen more deeply and learn from the messages we receive.
When you aren’t working, what do you like to do?
I love being with my family, taking camping trips in our Vanagon, hiking, traveling, climbing, skiing – really anything that takes us outdoors. While I love all the activities, my favorite moments are probably at the end of the day when I get to curl up in a hammock and read a good book.
What is your idea of happiness?
My idea of happiness is having all of my basic needs met and being surrounded my the people I love. If a good meal and chocolate are involved, all the better!
