Yoga for Caregivers

with Heather Jones
The opportunity to provide care for others can be one of life’s greatest joys but the stress of caregiving can easily lead to fatigue and burn out. Approaching the art of caregiving from a solid foundation of self love and preservation can provide caregivers access to optimal health, energy and longevity. This workshop is designed to assist caregivers of all kinds; parents, teachers, healthcare providers, those caring for aging parents, mental health workers ect. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH YOGA OR AYURVEDA NECESSARY.

In this workshop we will:

  • Look at the needs of the individual through the system of Ayurveda
  • Examine and identify each participant’s energy enhancers (things that feed your energy) and energy suckers (things that deplete your energy)
  • Using traditional Ayurvedic practices, create a daily routine to support each participant
  • Explore movement to energize, ground and center through yoga asana and breath work
  • Introduce mindfulness meditation practices to clear and calm the mind

Each participant should leave with a better understanding of their individual needs, what feeds and what depletes their energy and simple, realistic techniques to support and enhance their work.
