Your Brain on Yoga

An Experiential, Eight Week Exploration of Yoga’s Neurological and Psychological Impact

Do you ever wonder why yoga and other mindfulness practices have such a wonderful effect on your mind and body? Current brain research shows that by focusing our attention in particular ways, we can alter the brains activity and structure. That means:

  • A calmer, less reactionary mind
  • Improved memory and attention
  • Decreased anxiety and depression
  • Strengthened immune, digestion and hormone function
  • Deeper relationships and social connections

Each week we will explore different brain functions and mindfulness practices that support the mental states of happiness, love and wisdom through short lectures, contemplation, mindfulness practices such as meditation, pranayama, asanas, deep awareness and yoga nidra, take home practices and reflections

Together, we will learn how to influence the brain, so that our minds and bodies feel healthier, happier and more at ease.
