SARAH BURTON fell in love with Yoga in 2003. She is Yoga Alliance RYT 200 hour certified, has a Bachelor’s in Health Education, and works in the Gastroenterology and Nutrition department at the University of Utah Hospital. She is also a Nutritional Therapist. She has a creative vinyasa flow style. Her detailed teaching is full of movement, that helps the heart get pumping and the mind-body growing.

What do you find most inspiring about being a yoga instructor?
Seeing people do things they didn’t think they could do; we can go so much further than we dream if we just try!

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
That everyone would have fresh/clean/accessible water.

How has your life/body changed since becoming a practitioner of yoga?
I am so much kinder towards my body and mind which helps me empathize with others and where they may be on their journey.

Where was your most memorable vacation?
Peru! Staying in the high mountains, learning about the beautiful people who have been there for several generations.

Who was your idol while growing up?
I was obsessed with Sacagawea forever! Still love her

What event had the most influence on you?
Living in the Philippines

What is your favorite movie?
Currently, The Greatest Showman. I think it changes whenever there is a new great movie out.

If you had a chance to meet someone, dead or alive, who might that be?
Mary, the mother of Jesus

What advice would you give someone just beginning on their yoga journey?
Don’t stop! Manage your thoughts to make it a beautiful experience and it will be

Why should someone come to WAY to practice yoga?
Because it’s the best studio in Utah for a chance to practice and grow your own yoga without outside expectation that could influence your journey. You can have a genuine, beautiful yoga experience!
